It is a go to thing for me to paint when I want to relax, try out a new color palette or simply do not know what to paint.

About the class: Wavy pattern of watercolor textures

During this class, we will paint and explore together 5 different watercolor textures:

  • Salt: whether fine, coarse or kosher, all salts leave interesting watercolor textures
  • Alcohol: rubbing alcohol or isopropelic alcohol you get at the pharmacy are great for these textures
  • Water: of course, water can leave texture in your watercolor washes…..
  • Color bleeds: the magic of watercolors, when two colors touch!
  • Couscous: what? yup….

The image shows, the watercolor paint texture with rubbing alcohol dropped in wet paint.
Rubbing alcohol is truly one of my favorite watercolor textures…..

The introduction to the class

I’ve shared the introduction to the class over on youtube so you can watch a few examples of these patterns and find out if this is something you would love to learn to make. I will guide you at every step, and provide a template should you want to use it for your final piece.

Where to find the class?

I have shared the class on both Skillshare (with a subscription) and Gumroad (one time purchase).

Skillshare – A creative plateform

Skillshare is a streaming platform that hosts a LOT of creative class that you can stream across many subjects: painting, drawing, but also cooking, software and even more!

Gumroad – One time purchase on a sliding scale

On Gumroad, you can purchase the class as a one-time purchase. You can then stream it whenever you wish, at your convenience.

  • Wavy Pattern class on Gumroad: The class is available through a sliding scale. The suggested price is 25$ (canadian dollars). If you are in a space where you need a little break, you may enter a price above the minimum of 15$CAN. If you need more of a break, please reach out!

More wavy patterns and classes

You can find more examples of my wavy patterns over on instagram where I regularly share some.

You can also find these little patterns in my first class, about color swatching. You can find everything in this article about Playful Watercolor Swatches.

A lovely example of a watercolor wavy pattern with slight texture.
